ABC at "Take Part" Conference on Inclusive Publishing in Stockholm

June 22, 2016

From May 16 to 18, 2016 over 300 delegates, speakers and moderators from more than 20 countries participated in the Take Part Conference in Stockholm to exchange experiences and information about human perspectives on inclusive publishing.

All participants had the same vision – that reading should be accessible to all. ABC Head, Ms. Monica Halil Lövblad, was there to speak about the activities of the Accessible Books Consortium. Watch her presentation to the conference on YouTube.

The welcoming address to the conference was given by HRH Prince Carl Philip, who, when talking about dyslexia, commented that, “these issues [of accessibility] are important not only to me but also to the hundreds of thousands of children with dyslexia in Sweden. Every day, these children fight with letters and numbers that jump around in their school books. The others laugh at them when they get something wrong, and they have to work harder than their classmates to achieve the same grades. ” He added: “I know what it’s like, I was one of them.”
