PCT information update

KZ Kazakhstan (fees)

Since 1 January 2026, several fees payable in Kazakh tenge (KZT) to the National Institute of Intellectual Property (NIIP) (Kazakhstan) in its capacity as receiving Office have changed: 

Transmittal fee (PCT Rule 14): .....................................................KZT 10,631.40  

Fee for priority document (PCT Rule 17.1(b)):
— in case of filing by a legal entity.............................................KZT 2,828.08
— in case of filing by a natural person .....................................KZT 1,139.28

Since the same date, the Office has also changed the amounts of components of the national fee payable to it as designated (or elected) Office:  

For a patent:

Filing fee and fee for formal examination ...................KZT 21,045.88
Fee for substantive examination ..................................KZT 69,350.60
Annual fee for the first three years, per year ..............KZT 21,045.88

For a utility model:

Filing fee ..........................................................................KZT 17,038.08
Annual fee for the first three years, per year .............KZT 17,038.08

In addition, the fee for reinstatement of rights (PCT Rule 49.6(d)(i)) has changed since the same date and is now KZT 32,660.96.

MG Madagascar (Receiving Office functions)

The Industrial Property Office of Madagascar has notified the International Bureau that it will act as receiving Office for applicants who are residents or nationals of Madagascar, with effect from 2 January 2027.

SY Syrian Arab Republic (Office name and contact details)

The name, location and mailing address and website address of the Office have changed and are now as follows:

(Updating of PCT Applicant’s Guide, Annex B (SY))

Search fee and other fees relating to international search (European Patent Organisation)

From 1 December 2026, there will be a change in the equivalent amount payable in Australian dollars (AUD) for international searches carried out by the European Patent Office. 

The new amount is indicated in Fee Table I(b).
