Paying for IP Services – Introduction

Hey there. Welcome to WIPO payment webpages.

This is an introduction video from which you will discover the tools we offer you to pay smooth, secure, and fast.

The starting point for your payments is the creation of a WIPO Account. A WIPO Account is your personal user account to access all WIPO's online services, from payment to courses, and much more.

It enables you to pay and provides access to your personalized dashboard and messaging system.

WIPO Wallet is your deposit account managed in Swiss Francs. It is a fast, secure, and convenient way to pay for WIPO services. We recommend WIPO Wallet if you often make transactions with WIPO and would like to avoid making multiple bank transfers and paying bank charges.

Please note that WIPO Wallet is designed for regular transactions with WIPO and cannot be opened for a single transaction only.

Another payment tool is WIPO Pay. WIPO Pay is our payment application for fast and secure transactions. It allows you to pay your fees for PCT, eHague, eLisbon, Domain Name cases, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and UPOV online services.

A small remark: WIPO Pay is not yet used to pay fees for Madrid and WIPO Academy. To pay those fees, follow the payment instructions on our website.

To access WIPO Pay you need a WIPO Account.

WIPO Pay offers you 6 different payment methods: WIPO Wallet, credit or debit cards, eWallets, PayPal, SOFORT (Klarna), and bank transfer.

Available credit and debit cards are VISA, Mastercard, Discover, Diners Club, UnionPay, JCB, and American Express.

Available eWallets are Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and Alipay.

Let's summarize all the WIPO payment tools we have seen today.

• WIPO Account is your personal user account.
• WIPO Wallet is your deposit account and one of the available payment methods to pay your fees to WIPO.
• WIPO Pay is a payment application that offers 6 different payment methods, including WIPO Wallet.

Let's see an example where all these tools can be used. Let's access WIPO Pay.

Go to WIPO's official website and click on "Protect and Manage". A menu will open. Find the menu title "Paying for IP Services". Click on "WIPO Pay". Click on "Access WIPO Pay". You will be asked to login to your WIPO Account. You are now in our payment application WIPO Pay.

After composing your basket and proceeding to payment you will be able to choose your payment method, where you can find WIPO Wallet among 6 available payment methods. Remember that to be able to pay with a WIPO Wallet, you have to first open it by sending us a wallet opening request.
